DAMASCUS – Syria Foreign Ministry spokesman Jihad Al-Makdissi said “According to us there was something unknown in our air space and our air defense shot that thing. Later on we discovered that it was Turkish aircraft.” Makdissi indicated that Syria defended its sovereignty rights.
Syria Foreign Ministry spokesman said Turkish aircraft shot down was a military aircraft and was there with exploration purpose.
Makdissi indicated that Syria does not have hostile intentions against Turkey but he accepted that there is a serious difference of opinion between two countries.
