A girl wed at the age of 15 at Kahramanmaraş has been sent back to her family home next day of the wedding for not being a virgin. The girl, who said to her family that she was virgin, committed suicide. It is determined that the young girl was virgin after the autopsy performed.
Fatma Korkmaz, who was living in the village Saygılı of Kahramanmaraş, was fifteen years old. She was wed on Sunday with Isa A. who is ten years older than her.
Fatma Korkmaz returned to her family home in the morning after the wedding. She told to her family that Isa A. and his family sent her back claiming she wasn’t virgin but Fatma added that she didn’t have any affairs with someone else.
Then Fatma korkmaz went to another room and committed suicide with the shotgun owned by her father.
The young girl has been brought to the hospital for the autopsy. After the autopsy performed at the request of the family, it is determined that Fatma Korkmaz was virgin.
Fatma Korkmaz has been buried at the village cemetery.
