Upon the gun shootings heard from a house in Çanakkale, the police came and unveiled that a retired lieutenant colonel committed suicide after killing his wife and his daughters with gun. It was reported that the retired lieutenant colonel sent messages from his mobile phone to his close ones.
Shootings were heard this morning from the building situated in front of Officers Lodging Buildings on the Street of Tuğsavul at the quarter of Hocahamza, the district of Gelibolu in Çanakkale.
The patrol police came to the incident area after the shootings were reported to the police.
At the first inspection, it was unveiled that the retired lieutenant colonel Süleyman Oral Özçağlayan committed suicide after killing with his own gun his wife Hatice Canan and his daughters Melis and Cansu Özçağatay.
It was reported that Özçağatay, who was retired 4 years ago, sent a message via his mobile phone to his close ones to inform that he would commit suicide, before he slaughtered his family.
After the incident was heard, the District Governor of Gelibolu Namık Kemal Nazlı, the Prosecutor Nihat Öztürk and the military officials came to the house.
